Men’s grooming products have come a very long way over the years. The amount of technology, precision, and level of comfort that current trimmers/shavers are now capable of is sometimes a little jaw-dropping, and this is especially true when looking specifically at things that can be considered to be the best hair trimmer for men.
Hair trimmers are now better than they’ve ever been before, and with more and more guys deciding to take it upon themselves to trim up their hair when it requires such work, we figured that now would be the perfect time to take a look into the wide and varied world of men’s hair trimmers.
There are plenty of really good trimmers out there, but if you’re looking for only the best of the best, this is the list for you. These are the hair trimmers that will any guy would be proud to own, and with that said, here’s what we found after loads of research and looking around.
The very first hair trimming that we’re going to talk about is the Braun
Braun includes thirteen length settings so you've got a really solid amount of control depending on the length of the hair that you’re cleaning up, and these range from 0.5 up to 21mm. You should be able to get around 40 minutes of continued use out of the MGK3020 before needing to charge it up, but keep in mind that this unit does required a whopping10 hours of charging to go from zero to one hundred.
As much of a bummer as that is, it’s far from a deal-breaker. Along with the other perks already mentioned, the blades of the MGK3020 are self-sharpening and deliver a surprisingly close and accurate cut. Plus, thanks to the washable nature of the unit, cleaning the shaver and its many accessories is dead simple.
4. Philips Norelco Multigroom Series 3100
If you like the idea of having a hair trimmer that can also function as a complete grooming kit, a good alternative to the Braun MGK3020 is the Philips Norelco Multigroom Series 3100. The Series 3100 offers a lot of the same features that the MGK3020 is capable of, but there are a
Just like the MGK3020, you’ve got a lot of included accessories to play around with. The attachments that come with this particular trimmer include a detail trimmer, beard and mustache trimmer, nose trimmer, and even a comb for working with stubble.
The blades that are present on the Series 3100 are made out of chromium, and this combined with the self-sharpening nature of them create for an insanely close and sharp cut every single time you power up the trimmer. Also welcomed here is the rounded blade tips that that help to reduce the overall skin irritation that is often found with trimmers in this price range.
The run time of 35 minutes on the battery is a bit less than what the Braun MGK3020 is capable of, but we feel that’s a fair sacrifice for more quality blades and additional length settings.
3. Wahl Elite Pro High Performance Haircut Kit
There are two Wahl trimmers that made the cut for this list, and the first one is the Elite Pro
Wahl’s blades are self-sharpening and deliver an extremely precise cut. You aren’t able to use the Elite Pro wirelessly, and while we know that this will be seen as a big downside from a few guys reading this review, it’s worth keeping in mind that the 8-foot long power cable should offer more than enough wiggle room.
In addition to the hair trimmer itself, the Wahl Elite Pro also comes with a very wide array of guide combs to help you get the most accurate cut possible depending on the type and length of hair that you’re cutting. There’s a slight learning curved involved with the Elite Pro considering it’s premium nature, but once you learn how to tame this beast, you’ll never want to go back to anything less powerful or capable.
2. Remington HC4250 Shortcut Pro
The next pick of ours for the best hair trimmer for men is a bit different than all of the other trimmers on here, and it goes by the name of the Remington HC2450 Shortcut Pro. The design of the Shortcut Pro is much smaller and more compact than its competitors, and this is because the unit is designed to be used specifically with shorter hair.
In fact, the HC4250 is so small that you can easily fit it in the palm of your hand. You might be wondering at first why this small size is so buzz-worthy, but it’s actually quite useful. Since the trimmer is so small, it’s incredibly easy to use it for trimming around tour neckline, all over your head, and even by your ears.
Remington decided to use extra-wide curved bales with the Shortcut Pro as well, and this provides for an extremely close, comfortable, and smooth shave no matter what. Click here to view Remington HC4250 Shortcut Pro on Amazon.
1. Wahl Color Pro Complete Hair Clipper Kit
To finish up this list, there’s the Wahl Color Pro Complete Hair Clipper Kit. The Color Pro is much more akin to the other three options as opposed to the Shortcut Pro, but just because it’s very similar doesn’t mean that it is worth considering.
The motor found within the Color Pro is incredibly powerful, and this makes cutting through all lengths and types of hair very smooth and enjoyable. Also nice to have is the steel blades that are permanently aligned so that you don’t ever have to worry about adjusting them.
There are three combs and three hair clips included with the Color Pro, and as the name hints at, all of these are color-coded so that you always know what kind of cut you’re going to get. Click here to read more about Wahl Color Pro Hair Clipper Kit on Amazon.
